It's all happening..momentum in March at Gallery 11:11

After a couple of months of time taken for my own art practice, I’m delighted to announce that momentum is now building for the gallery with a number of upcoming events which truly celebrate the vision of the space, specifically to CONNECT & to COLLABORATE.

In regard to collaboration, Gallery 11:11 is proud to team up with Mosman Dental Surgery and Mosman High for the MOSMAN ART WALK. This walk continues until the 11th of March and we are delighted to have an ongoing Artist Collective exhibited with this Dental Practice. Whilst waiting for your appointment which can be somewhat daunting at times, you are able to take in the work of Kristine Ballard, Rebecca Anne Brady and myself.

Ian is extremely passionate about all things art and about connecting his clients with the background stories of the artwork.

“The collaboration between Gallery 11:11 and Mosman dental surgery formed over 12 months ago and has been an exciting journey. The introduction of over 10 pieces of original artwork has softened the clinical space and provides both a distraction and a source of pleasure and acts as a conversation starter for our patients. For me the artwork is a constant source of inspiration to create beautiful aesthetic dentistry for my patients. It is the perfect backdrop to the practice and marries together the art and science of dentistry.” Dr Ian Headley

In regard to his dental practice ~

“I whole heartedly believe in treating each patient as an individual, tailoring any treatment to their specific needs and endeavour to treat each patient with the care, attention and upmost professionalism that they deserve. To practice dentistry is a true privilege and one I take an enormous amount of pride in.” Dr Ian Headley

When it comes to connecting, we have so much to look forward to this March at the gallery. Firstly, ‘Surge Flow’ our upcoming exhibition by Joanna Durney Sanz which is supported by 3D sculpture Artist, Julius Haag. We will also be generously supported by the delicious Party Rockin Rocky Road chocolates . The gallery will be open 10 - 4 both weekends, opening on the 9/3 and bookings are only necessary midweek. On the 16th Joanna will hold an Artist talk with a focus on her studio practice. To bookend the month we are proud to host our first YOUTH ART Prize. This event will be an annual one that commemorates Penny King. Penny’s love of art and passion for encouraging young artist’s will be honoured during this event with the first 60 entries exhibited and several age categories awarded prizes with the support of Penny’s family and The Community Bank Epping.

Don’t forget that registrations close on the 15th of March. Entries will need to be delivered on the 23rd of March between 12 -4pm fitted with either D rings on the back of the canvas or if completed on paper, the work will need to be framed with D rings fitted on the back of the frame. The consent form also needs to be attached to the work.

A few details about the youth portrait prize.

This is an example of a D ring attached the back of an artwork.

If your self portrait is on paper, it must be framed and D rings attached. You may choose to recycle an old frame, simply choose any frame that compliments your work. If your work is on canvas, this counts as a frame though you will still need to attach the D rings.
